Over 75 Alumni, students, faculty and staff members attended Lally’s April 22 Finance Day program to launch the new Master’s level program in Financial Engineering and Risk Analytics and The International Center for Financial Research.

The day included Finance Program presentations by Professors Iftekhar Hasan and John Teall and a keynote address, “Spelunking into the Credit Crisis, or Forgetting First Principles” by Steve Silberstein ’76, Managing Partner, Coastal Partners LLC; former Managing Director, Lehman Brothers, Inc.
In addition, Lally Hedge Fund Student group members Reed B. Kipp '09 - BS Management, MS Financial Analysis, and Thomas M. Reithinger '09 - BS Management, BS Computer Science Engineering, presented the group’s strategy and results to date. The Lally Hedge Fund is an undergraduate/graduate student group made up of Rensselaer students from different class years and departments including management, computer science and mechanical engineering. Group members include: Nick Korbas '09 BS Management; Christian Jensen '10 BS Management; Gregory Murray'10 BS Management; Sujal Desai ’10 MBA; Neil Shah ‘11 Pathfinder MBA; Dan Rubio'11 BS Management; Matt DiSalvio '11 BS Management; Kevin Beauregard '11 BS Mechanical Engineering.
